Students can now receive training in CPR following the School registering with the British Heart Foundation.
A cardiac arrest happens when there is a problem with the heart’s electrical rhythm, stopping it from pumping blood properly to the rest of the body. It can happen anywhere and at any time, at home, in the playground or in the street. The person will stop breathing and become unconscious. Chances of survival decrease the longer it takes for someone to act.
By training our students, they’ll be there to perform CPR and other life saving skills if the worst happens, giving someone the best possible chance of survival.
The CPR training sessions are an enjoyable, practical activity which encourage students to learn a valuable skill that they may not have known they needed, but may have to use at any time.
